Last night went well past 2AM and saw a deal made between winner Cary Katz and runner up’s Justin Bonomo and Sean Winter.
Today, we are back in action at ARIA Casino Extra Resort and Casino for Day 2 of the impromptu $ 50,000 Super High Roller weekend series.
Play is set to get underway at 2PM, with cards in the air shortly thereafter.
We will have updates and chipcounts throughout the afternoon and evening, concluding with another Super High Roller winner.
As always, stay tuned
At the start of Level 2, we have 22 players in the field spread across 4 tables. Normally 22 players would be broken down to 3 tables of 7, 7 and 8, however, things are done a bit differently here at ARIA Resort and Casino in the High Rollers and Super High Rollers. Because of players propensity to re-enter or late enter into these tournaments, play will usually proceed with the current number of players until we get down to a table with 4 players before breaking a table.
Breaking Casino Extra tables breaks the momentum of the tournament and the staff here at ARIA tries its best to not break the momentum of the tournament if at all possible.
It’s still early in the tournament and as such, the chipstacks are relatively even throughout the room. Only Paul Volpe stands out with an above 200,000 stack.
With the close of registration, we are coming back to Level 10 with 40 entries total in the field and 18 players.
We were joined at the last minute by Brian Rast and Zachary Clark as well as had a reentry during the break. We almost had two re-entries when Fedor Holz went all in with his short stack against Igor Kurganov, Fedor holding Ad 4d while Igor held pocket 5’s, but a flop of Ax 4x 7x left Igor drawing thin and the Ax on the turn boated up Fedor for the double up.
As usual, we will have updated chipcounts and seat assignments …
